Message Board FAQ

Here is a brief explanation of some of the questions you may have about the CoinClub.com Moderated Message Board.

What is a Moderated Message Board?

A message board monitored by an individual or group (the moderator) who has the authority to block messages deemed inappropriate. Moderated message boards have fewer flames and less spam than unmoderated forums.

What is NetEtiquette?

TYPING ALL CAPITALS IS CONSIDERED TO BE SHOUTING AND UNIVERSALLY FROWNED UPON. Use capitals sparingly.

Everyone makes mistakes. Give people the benefit of the doubt, and if you must point out the error of their ways, do so with humility.

Use the same common courtesy that you would extend (and expect to receive) in any other form of communication, including verbal.

Offer answers and help if you are in a position to do so.

Why did my post get removed?

First, CoinClub.com is owned by Overpass Internet Services and not by ICG. ICG is a major advertiser on the site, that is all. They have NO editorial control over the site, we at CoinClub.com are personally the last word on what stays and what goes.

Two, we have never in the past nor will we in the future tolerate name calling or other types of boorish behavior on the message board. If you want to make your point in a professional educated manner, your posts will NOT be removed. Please be civil.

Third, the CoinClub.com Message Board topic is "Coins". All off topic posts WILL be removed. This includes, but may not be limited to:

  • Complaining about us removing your posts.
  • Buy and sell posts, these belong in a classified ads.
  • Advertising other web sites.
  • General non coin based conversations.

Fourth, it could have been an accident or collateral damage from removing another post.

Finally, if you are unhappy and want to vent, please contact us.

Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts?

No. You can not use HTML tags in any field except body of the message. The maintainer of the script has the option of allowing or disallowing any HTML in the Message part of your posting. If they disallow it, the script will just throw out everything in <>'s. If they allow it, your html markup will appear in the posting. It can't hurt to try.

Why are there colons in the message when I try to post a follow-up?

Colons appear in the message dialog box when you try to follow up on a message to indicate that those lines are quoting the previous document. The owner of the WWWBoard can decide whether they wish to enable or disable the quoting of previous messages.

Why didn't my post show up?

Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload the page, it simply pulled it out of cache. Please reload your browser and it should then appear.

Why am I getting a blank white screen when I try to post?

Please contact us.
