I know. I questioned the current value because 1)Blanchard is very reputable 2)there was a greater disparity in purchase price/current value than in silver price at purchase/silver price now. I guess this was a hot item when it was purchased. In fact, yesterday I auctioned a 4reales with papers on eBay. It sold at $46. Having the earlier opinion of CCMMB, I'm happy! I now have 8's, 4's & 2's to auction. Thanks for your insight. h
: Anytime you sell back to a dealer you will ususally only get a small percentage of the retail value. That's not a ripoff, just how business in these matters is conducted. Now if you sell ebay or just on your own you can get closer to the retail, however you may not have the success of a reatail dealer.
: : You've helped tremendously in keeping my expectations in perspective. Thanks again. h
: : : : Blanchard offered $25 to $50. 5 to 10% of the original purchase. I seek your unbiased opinion because I am charged with liquidation, want to make an informed decision, am not a collector and have no idea if they've truly lost that much value or were sold at a 'novelty' price. Thanks for your help. h
: : : : : : : Where did you get them? Sound like copies

: : : : : : : : I have several coins in individual display bifolds. Each bifold has an authenticity paper and a short history claiming the coins are from the 1641 Spanish Galleon 'Concepcion'. Any value here or are these merely collectibles?
: : : : : : Acquired in the mid 80's from James Blanchard. h
: : : : : Those are the real deal.
: : : : : So why don't you call Blanchard and see what their buy back is? Otherwise do an eBay search for any current trades.
: : : I just did a quick search of eBay using your description and there is a 2 real cob with papers with a 'Buy it Now' price of $200. Whether it brings that money is another question.
: : : I wouldn't offer more than Blanchard did if one was offered to me.
