Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but the word on the street is that the World Reserve Monetary Exchange's business practices are considerably less shiny than the coins they promote. There's a HUGE thread on this site from a last summer that lists all sorts of problems people have had with them. At the risk of sounding blunt, before buying ANY supposed collectible, do some searching on the seller to see what their reputation is. Sure, almost anyone will have a few dissatisfied buyers but if it's 90-10 against, you can almost guarantee you're gonna be snookered. Run, do not walk, the opposite direction!
To review your coins:
The gold plating on the half isn't more than a few molecules thick and may not even be pure gold. There are dozens of companies in addition to WRME that plate ordinary coins and sell them at inflated prices as keepsakes and collectibles. Trouble is, there's virtually NO resale market for these items so you'd have trouble making back even a fraction of what you paid for it. Essentially you have 50¢ that just happens to be gold plated.
The bottom line comprises those two famous words:
CAVEAT EMPTOR.
As for the Peace dollar, when you get into MS-6X grades you need to ensure that the certification is from one of the major grading agencies and not just because the seller says that's what it is. Using the price guides on this site's home page (you DID look there, didn't you?) PCGS shows a retail price of $67. My limited experience is that PCGS tends to run a bit high so you might consider $60-$63 as more realistic.
You didn't state the 1881 Morgan's mint mark. Check out Numismedia's rankings - in F-12 everything except an 1881-CC runs around $18 retail. The CC is of course out in the sky. If you do have an 81-CC, again, have it authenticated and graded professionally.
: also, i have an 1881 morgan silver dollar and a
: 1922-s peace silver dollar that i'd like to know the worth. the peace silver dollar is in MS63 condition and the morgan is Fine. any info would be great, thanks.
