: : It amazes me that these people are apparently immune to any kind of regulation.  Today's paper had yet another ad, this one for "bricks" of "buffalos [sic*]" - 25 Westward Journey nickels, worth a buck and a quarter, for the lowlowlow price of just $12.95.

: What regulation would you have them write to prevent someone from asking whatever price they want for something they own?  Shall we set up an office of price control and you have to get their approval before you set the price on something?  And there are some regulations they do have to be aware of.  If they present the investment angle too strongly they can get in big trouble withe SEC for selling unlicensed securities.  Believe me these people are very careful with their ads to make sure they have not crossed the line and said anything actionable.
