If the coin has the same "flavor" as the mis-struck* dollar shown in the image, you have an off-center strike. That error happens when a blank doesn't land squarely inside the press collar so it's not aligned correctly when the dies come together.
Off-center strikes are more common than you might think, especially in the case of very-high-volume denominations such as cents and nickels. I've seen off-center Jeffersons selling in the $3 to $5 range.
(*) FWIW, coins are said to be struck rather than stamped.
: I have a 1996 nickel that is MIS-STRUCK [mis-stampED]. Half of the coin was struck and the other half UNTOUCHED [untouch]. I have A PHOTO [pohto] if need to see.
