: : : I have a 1996 penny with head on one side, and the image of lincoln on the tails side. Is this coin worth anything? Please respond to this message.
: : : Thank you,
: : : Graham
Having the image raised and facing left is not possible with any combination of dies or double striking at the mint. To create a raised reversed image yo would have to have a reversed die which only be created through the use of a reversed original model. This would not have happened at the US mint so if it actually is like you describe the overstriking would have had to have been done post mint by a private firm or individual.
: : First question, the image of Lincoln on the reverse, is it raised or incuse. Second question the image of Lincoln on the reverse, is he facing right or left?
: The head of Lincoln is raised, not incuse and he is facing left on the back, which is the double struck side. Right on the front, which appears to be normal
