Correct, it's a trick coin. Just search (ctrl-F) the rest of the board's main page for the word DOUBLE or TWO and you'll find lots of similar questions.

These coins have been around for ages. They're frequently used by magicians and people trying to scam a bet. Check any novelty shop (one of this board's fine sponsors, Jake's Marketplace, is a good place) and you should find all you want.

At one time it took the skills and tools of a jeweler or watchmaker to create a decent one. Today's computer-guided milling techniques make it possible to churn them out by the bucket-load.

: Hi, I have an old english penny that has two tails sides and I'm of the opinion that it is a 'trick' coin but even so, when did they start making such coins. I would imagine it wasn't easy to do. Also, is there any interest in the double tailed sided penny?
