Beginning in 1982 cents changed from bronze to copper plated zinc. They are not defined as clad.
Some coins in that era were struck on zinc blanks that didn't have copper plating and brought quite a premium.
Since then people have learned to dissolve the copper plating to try and sell them as mint errors. Now they are just classified as altered coins and have no premium.
